It’s fast cars and adrenaline in the world of the Gearshark Series. Cambria Hebert has branched off from her best-known #Hashtag Series by creating an even bigger world with her characters. Trent and Drew come from the #Hashtag Series and bring us into the world of Indie racing. Where there are no rules, the cars are fast and adrenaline runs high.
First Taste of M/M Romance
Now, when I read the synopsis of the first book in this series, I was hesitant. I had never read an M/M romance before and in all honesty, I was very nervous. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. I’m glad Cambria Hebert was my first M/M romance book. She has written a beautiful story for Trent and Drew and I am not the only one who thinks that they are the best book couple ever. Cambria opened my mind to a different genre of romance and I am definitely glad she did. I have found more books and more indie authors who create wonderful stories and my TBR (to be read) list has grown exponentially.
Back to the Story
Anyway, more on the series at hand. The first two books focus on Trent and Drew. You meet them in the #Hashtag Series. Trent plays football with Romeo and Braeden and Drew is Ivy’s brother. The develop a wonderful friendship in the first series but they are both more in the background. What little pieces you get to know of them, are just enough of a taste to make you want more. You get to learn more about who they are and what drives them to be the people they want to be.
A Beautiful Love Story
Cambria writes incredible stories, I’ve said that before, but what she creates with Trent and Drew far surpasses what she creates with any of her other couples. Trent and Drew have a quintessential relationship. One that you want for not just yourself, but for everyone in the world to experience. They are best friends who become so much more. The trials and tribulations that they go through make you laugh, cry and even rips your heart out. There is one point in the story where everything comes to a head where I couldn’t breathe. You felt the emotions that both men displayed. I felt what they felt. I cried when they cried. I swooned when they swooned. That is when you know you have found an incredible author. Cambria gets you so engrossed in this story that I think I read the first two books within a 48-hour period. I have also re-read this series multiple times as well, it’s that good.
The Rest of the Series
There are six books total in this series and one novella. The novella focuses more on the #Hashtag gang rather than the Gearshark group but I consider it to be for both of the series. The third book of the Gearshark Series comes back to a M/F Romance and an enemies to lovers trope that is very good. Two sides go against one another and realize they are more alike than what they first thought. The fourth and fifth book of the series goes back to M/M with two other characters from the world. All of the characters are interconnected and all their love stories go through ups and downs. You will not want to put these books down once you pick them up. I will say, though, Trent and Drew are still my favorite.
